As a Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II at CarMax, you will be responsible for completing cosmetic inspections, final quality inspections, vehicle cleaning, paint touch-up, wet sanding, and buffing of used, new, and customer vehicles according to CarMax standards. Duties include performing Reconditioning Associate and Reconditioning Associate I tasks as needed, such as zone maintenance, prep for delivery, vehicle receiving, inventory scanning, vehicle movement, basic vehicle detailing including car wash, interior cleaning/vacuuming, and exterior cleanliness. You will execute standardized work processes, participate in problem solving and continuous improvement activities, train new associates, identify defects and appropriate repair methods, provide auction support, drive vehicles on and off lot, and provide outstanding customer service. The position requires completion of all training including KRONOS Training, meeting performance standards, workstation certifications, ability to read and transcribe data, perform multiple duties in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 50 lbs, and communicate effectively. Working conditions include indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes noisy or inclement weather, standing or walking for extended periods, and adherence to CarMax, OSHA, and EPA standards including use of PPE and proper waste disposal.
