LocumJobsOnline is working with Austin Major Group to find a qualified Cardiovascular Disease PA in Illinois!About The PositionPosition Overview We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for locum tenens coverage in the Cardiovascular ICU. This role supports a high-acuity post-operative cardiac population and involves working closely with three CV ICU surgeons and interdisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities Manage ventilators, vasopressors/inotropes, arrhythmias, and medications Handle VV/VA ECMO, IABP, Impella, VADs, and post-transplant patients Perform procedures including: Central and arterial line insertion/removal Intubation/extubation Chest tube removal (insertion optional) Pacing wire and sternotomy site management Daily rounding with surgeons, charge RNs, and nursing staff Maintain a census of 8+ patients Function independently with some team-based support Requirements NP or PA with 1+ year experience in CV ICU Active Illinois license DEA and IL CSR ACLS and BLS certifications Additional Information 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) 10 Shifts/Month EMR: Epic No call required Will work solo or with another APP as volume requires Temporary privileges available for expedited onboarding 60-day average credentialing timeframe Apply today if you're an experienced CV ICU APP looking for a high-impact locum opportunity with a leading cardiac program.
