Job Description

Wherry Truck Lines, Inc. (WTL) / Green Waste Disposal has been a trusted name in bulk transport, land clearing, logging, and composting since 1992. The company is seeking a skilled Roll-Off CDL Driver to join its team, operating roll-off and bulk transport trucks to support green waste, construction debris, and refuse hauling. Responsibilities

  • Operate roll-off and bulk transport trucks to haul containers filled with green waste, construction debris, and residential or commercial refuse to approved disposal or processing facilities.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and hydraulic equipment to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Secure loads using appropriate equipment such as chains, straps, tarps, or hydraulic lifts to prevent spillage during transport.
  • Navigate and position trucks in tight or off-road areas, including construction zones and land-clearing sites.
  • Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel usage, landfill charges, and customer interactions.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site personnel to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and container swaps.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations, including proper handling of green waste and recyclable materials.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to clients, contractors, and property managers.
  • Perform basic truck maintenance and promptly report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class B or Class A CDL with no restrictions.
  • At least 3 years of roll-off driving experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequently climb in and out of trucks, and work in all weather conditions.
  • Familiarity with local traffic laws, safety procedures, and waste disposal regulations.
  • Strong spatial awareness, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good time management, communication, and teamwork abilities.
