About the Role:

As a School Bus Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of student passengers to their destinations. Your primary responsibility will be to operate a bus in accordance with all traffic laws and regulations. You will be expected to navigate various routes, read maps, and adapt to changing traffic conditions to maintain schedules. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition. Ultimately, your role is vital in promoting public safety and enhancing the overall travel experience for all passengers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsements (will train).
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
  • Pass physical and random screenings as required by the Department of Education.
  • Must be 21 or older

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar driving role or in the transportation industry.
  • Familiarity with local routes and geography.
  • Will train - training hours reimbursed.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the bus safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe working order.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including those with disabilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of routes, passenger counts, and any incidents that occur during the trip.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members regarding route changes or delays.
