Job Description

About Savi

Do you want to make a serious impact in the lives of others? Savi is the leading financial technology startup working to solve the student debt crisis. Our mission is to help the 46+ million student loan borrowers better understand their debt, find federal forgiveness programs, and manage the paperwork and complexity of enrolling.

We're looking for people who have the desire to build meaningful products and the drive to do great work as part of a team. Based in DC, Savi has been featured in the New York Times, TIME, and Inc., and has some of the top fintech and social impact investors in the country. Savi is growing quickly, and our clients include Fortune 500 employers, financial institutions, and the nation’s largest membership groups, who use our platform to help their employees and members better manage their student loans and save money.

The Role

We’re looking for a highly-motivated and ambitious self-starter to lead our growth marketing function at Savi.

This is the opportunity to scale an end-to-end marketing funnel aimed squarely at helping people take control over their student loans. More specifically, it’ll be your job to develop, test, iterate, and rapidly grow a channel development strategy that goes beyond “just” email or a few online ads. This is an area of investment for Savi, so we’re excited to try new things and are expanding our team by hiring for this lead role as a combination player/coach.

Because we employ a B2B2C business model, you’ll have the opportunity to apply levers at every point in the funnel - from the initial partner onboarding, to webinars branding Savi as we push for user uptake, to ads and emails aimed at getting users to finish the application so they can save money and get their paperwork in order. This is the chance to get in on the ground floor of an exciting startup tackle a major problem for borrowers nationwide.

About You:

  • Borrowers owe over $1.7 trillion on their student loans, so we’ve got a lot of people to help, and quickly. We’re looking for someone who shares that urgency and is ready to take on ownership of a huge entrepreneurial opportunity to help millions of people save money.

  • You’re experienced and successful (3-5 years) at using direct-response tactics to get people to take action. That may be B2C or B2B2C marketing, campaigns, digital advocacy - but at its core, you’re good at capturing people’s attention on the internet and getting them to take the next step.

  • You can easily see the forest and the trees - you’re great at on-the-ground execution but especially excel at creating, communicating, implementing, and scaling a vision that turns those tactics into a transformative multi-channel winner for the business.

  • You’re decisive about doubling down on what’s working, cutting loose what isn’t, and relentlessly A/B testing, iterating, and improving everything you touch.

  • You’re familiar with typical marketing tools - ideally Customer.io , HubSpot, and Metabase, but similar experience will do - to build and track campaigns.

What You’ll Own:

Very simply, all of marketing will fall under your purview. That’s the TL;DR, but here are some specifics:

Company Marketing Strategy:

  • Partner with the Implementation team to propose and implement strategies to increase market penetration and user registration for new clients upon launching the Savi benefit, including collateral tailored for HR leaders.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to design and launch automated workflows to engage and convert users through a multi-channel approach.

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure accurate data flows and integrations between internal systems, implement marketing automation, create new product features, and craft the ideal new product experience for new and existing users.

  • Work closely with the Partnerships team to develop campaigns that increase market penetration at key clients. Conduct check-ins with clients to identify new opportunities and address challenges.

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging channels, and best practices, particularly within the financial wellness, HR technology, and benefits space to better serve customers.

Marketing and User Conversion:

  • Leverage customer and data insights to identify opportunities for new segmentation strategies. Analyze Savi's customer base to identify accounts with growth potential.

  • Oversee strategy for new user journeys to optimize conversion.

  • Use LinkedIn, Meta, Google and other paid performance channels (including some we haven’t discovered yet!) to launch, measure, and optimize efficient qualified lead acquisition.

Data and Analytics:

  • Monitor and report on campaign performance, adjusting outreach efforts based on iterative key learnings.

  • Build and maintain growth forecasts and models, tracking funnel metrics and continuously optimizing to ensure we hit our growth targets.

  • Conduct ongoing A/B testing on creative, messaging, and workflows to drive continuous performance improvements.

  • Present data-driven insights, campaign performance, and recommendations to Savi leadership.

Savi Benefits:

  • D.C. based as our team’s hybrid homebase is at the Midtown Center DC WeWork location.
  • Salary range: $70-90K plus company equity and 20-30% performance-based comp.
  • Benefits include: 5% 401K match after 6 months, 99% employer-sponsored health coverage (health, vision, dental, HSA) on day one, generous annual PTO, paid sick and parental leave, pre-tax commuter benefits, and 10+ additional paid holidays annually.

Savi provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics. In addition to federal law requirements, Savi complies with applicable state and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment in every location in which the company has facilities. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
