Credence has an immediate need for a Software Testing Specialist to support the Defense Logistics Agency, API Gateway Program. Provides software testing experience (integration and acceptance). Designs and executes API software testing and evaluates results to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Prepares test scripts and all required test documentation. Designs and prepares all needed test data. Analyzes internal security within systems. Reviews test results and evaluates for conformance to design. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below Experience with CI/CD integration for automated API testing. Knowledge of performance testing tools and concepts. Familiarity with security testing principles and common API vulnerabilities. Understanding of database concepts for validating data interactions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for debugging API issues. Attention to detail for identifying subtle discrepancies in API responses. Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (e.g., JavaScript for Postman, Java for Rest Assured) for test automation. Provides software testing experience (integration and acceptance). Education, Requirements and Qualifications Five (5) years of relevant experience Experience in computer software development and testing software applications, including system, regression, acceptance, end to end, performance, and automation testing. Knowledge of developing and maintaining test cases using designated automated test tools. Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority. Knowledge of different API architectures (e.g., REST, SOAP) and their protocols (e.g., Familiarity with data formats commonly used in APIs (e.g., JSON, XML). Understanding of API authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., API keys, OAuth, JWT). Hands-on experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, JMeter, SoapUI). Ability to read and interpret API documentation (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI specifications).
