Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Email Marketing Specialist to manage and optimize email campaigns. The role will focus on developing test plans, building and executing campaigns, conducting QA, and analyzing performance to drive engagement, conversions, and retention.

Position Title: Email Marketing Specialist 

Onsite/Remote?: Hybrid, must be onsite Tue and Thur: Chicago, IL 60631

Duration: 2 Months

Hours per week (if not 40, is it a specific schedule or flexible?): 40 

Target Start Date: October 1

Pay: $35/hr- $45/hr (DOE)

Essential Responsibilities

• Create and manage emails and associated journey maps within a marketing automation tool. Make design edits (CTA buttons, copy placement, etc.) based on performance.
• Develop templates for operational, product marketing, and alert emails while ensuring adherence to brand guidelines.
• Drive and optimize key performance metrics including CTR, open rates, revenue lift, engagement, and retention.
• Create and execute test plans for A/B testing subject lines, copy, and creative. Analyze results to drive continuous improvement.
• Test variables such as time of day, audience segmentation, email templates, personalization, and interactive features. Apply learnings to future campaigns.
• Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to test journey maps, links, and personalization strategies.
• Review industry benchmarks and set KPIs and goals for campaigns based on both standards and past performance.
• Partner with marketing stakeholders to communicate campaign strategies, maintain list health, and ensure strong deliverability.
• Stay current on email marketing best practices and emerging trends.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field (minimum).
• In lieu of a degree, 6 years of email marketing or marketing automation experience may be considered.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years in email marketing, marketing automation, or a related field.

Skills

• Proficiency with marketing automation platforms (Marketo, Selligent, HubSpot, Eloqua, etc.).
• Experience with email testing tools such as Litmus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with strong problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign.
