We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director to join our Summits event team within the Fire and Rescue Portfolio. This critical role will be responsible for managing and executing several of our high-profile Summit events, focusing on delivering exceptional value to attendees and sponsors.

About the Summits:

The FDIC Summits are exclusive events that offer a unique opportunity for peer-to-peer knowledge exchange and collaboration. These events take place alongside our market-leading event, FDIC International, and have the potential to develop into future stand-alone events throughout the year.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and execute multiple Summit events, ensuring flawless execution from start to finish
  • Drive attendee recruitment and onboarding, targeting key audiences such as Metro Officers, Chiefs in the Fire Service, EMS Leadership, and other specific sectors and interest groups within the fire and rescue industry
  • Program engaging and relevant content for each Summit, collaborating with internal teams, industry experts, and advisory consultants (includes but is not limited to developing panel discussions, roundtables, recruiting speakers, and organizing sponsor roundtables based on attendee product sourcing needs).
  • Manage and work in tandem with advisory consultants who assist with developing content programming
  • Collaborate with internal teams on delivery and execution, including marketing, content, sales, and operations
  • Manage sponsorship fulfillment, ensuring that sponsors receive maximum value and exposure.
  • Foster year-round community engagement, building strong relationships with key attendees and partners
  • Liaise with event leadership to develop and execute strategies that deliver on event KPIs, drive scalable audience growth, and stay within budget parameters.
  • Participate in select industry events to build brand awareness and establish new connections
  • Provide concierge services to the target audience throughout the entire event journey, from registration to post-event follow-up.
  • Travel to and oversee assigned events in person, managing onsite staff and troubleshooting as needed to ensure smooth event execution

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years event or conference management, marketing, client relations, partner relationships or sales background
  • You’re curious, resourceful, a self-starter, a creative problem solver, an organized project manager, and a team player, motivated to reach event and customer goals
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills
  • Fearless communicator via phone, email and in-person meetings
  • Confident in your ability to build relationships with customers
  • Able to travel throughout the year to various industry events and assigned events
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Teams
  • Problem Solver with a ‘can do’ approach to work; takes ownership of tasks; identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations
