Salary Range: $68,640 - $90,060
The base salary range represents a good faith salary range for this position. This position is eligible for annual incentive pay and has the opportunity for continued salary growth. If you are hired at American Water your base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as market, geography, skills, education and/or experience. At American Water, we are committed to pay equity. The GIS Software/Data Engineer is responsible for the development and technical support of Geographic Information Systems at American Water. They support the entire GIS technology stack including databases, backend processes, API servers, integrations, web hosting, frontend UIs, and more. They work directly with business stakeholders to implement new products. They develop scripts and applications to maintain existing systems and products. They have a strong understanding of IT methodologies and can provide technology guidance for how GIS software is implemented across the business. They take a holistic approach to software development and are directly involved with application design, software architecture, user adoption, and more. They have a strong background in data engineering and are familiar with the implementation and optimization of summarizations, filters, joins, and more complex analytics.
